SIMPCO in Sioux City, Iowa received a 2009 Innovation Award from the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) for its housing rehabilitation program.

Award winners were showcased during NADO’s 2009 Annual Training Conference, August 28 through September 2, 2009 in Chicago, IL. SIMPCO Co-Executive Director Jane Gilbert and Community Development Director Kristi Quinn attended the conference and accepted the award.

SIMPCO is the council of governements representing Woodbury, Plymouth, Ida, Monona and Cherokee Counties in Iowa; Dakota County in Nebraska and Union County in South Dakota.

NADO is a Washington, DC-based association that promotes programs and policies that strengthen local governments, communities and economies through regional cooperation, program delivery and comprehensive strategies. The association’s Innovation Awards program recognizes regional development organizations and partnering organizations for improving the economic and community competitiveness of our nation’s regions and local communities. Award winners were showcased during NADO’s 2009 Annual Training Conference, August 28 – September 2, 2009 in Chicago, IL.
